Vision 2010 review

More exhibitors and visitors than ever before at VISION in Stuttgart – Visitors have concrete intentions to invest – Increased international character

VISION 2010 exceeded its previous record result in all areas: Approximately 6,800 visitors from over 50 countries, predominantly from Europe but also from overseas, mainly from the USA and South Korea, came to Stuttgart this year to obtain information at the world trade fair for machine vision which took place from 9 – 11 November 2010.

Vision2010

Quest Innovations was present at VISON 2010 with a stand in Hall 6. At the stand we showcased different camera products as well as two brand new productpresentations. Also the new Condor-1000 MS5-285 five channel multispectralcamera based on SonyICX285 sensors got a lot of attention. The show was a big succes, many visitors came to the stand and there were a lot of positive responses.

VISION 2011 will take place from 8 - 10 November 2011 at the new Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre. Just like the past years, Quest Innovations will be present to showcase its newest multispectral camera products.

More detailed information is available on the VISION website.

World's first high-speed 3ccd camera system introduction

Condor_1000_MS3

As per December 1 2010 Quest Innovations BV proudly presents the Condor-1000 MS3-RGB120 as their 6th addition to the Condor1000 multispectral camera range. With the MS3-RGB120 it is possible to do highly accurate color measurements up to 120 frames per second per sensor! The used prism technology allows the camera to have full optical resolution at all basic colors without filter array mosaic artifacts.

The MS3-RGB120 takes 3ccd color measurements to a whole new level, a special designed prism block supports three CCDs making it possible to use standard C-mount lenses without loss of accuracy. The three ICX618 sensors deliver up to 120 frames per second in full resolution (640x484) with an excellent pixel to pixel alignment. Partial scan and binning are available for even higher frame rates (up to 300+ fps). This allows users to do superb high-speed color measurements.

Camera Link interface allows up to 24 bit total output for RGB images. Separate channels can provide images up to 14 bits per pixel without decreasing the frame rate. For applications where long distances are required the camera is also available with a fiber optic interface. GigE interface is available for applications where the high frame rate is not required.

More information is available on the Condor-1000 MS3-RGB120 product page.

Condor-1000 MS1-FV Foveon camera announcement

X3_IllustrationQuest Innovations is about to release the Condor-1000 MS1-FV for production. Specific selected customers have been testing this Foveon based camera with good results.

The Condor-100 MS1-FV uses a Foveon X3 F13 direct image sensor which is the most advanced color image sensor ever developed. It represents a giant leap forward in color photography and is the only image sensor technology that combines the power of digital with the essence of film. The Condor-1000 MS1-FV uses this unique 3 layer Foveon technology which allows the camera to have full optical resolution at all colors without filter array mosaic artifacts. The camera sends out complete images at full resolution for Red, Green and Blue channels. Because of the unique 3 layer technology and the special registers on the sensor, the Condor-1000 MS1-FV can be operated in a line scan mode with perfect registration in the RGB channels. The RGB data has no spatial offsets in any direction. Unlike other line scan camera, the Condor 1000 MS-1FV can be instantly switched between line and area operation to facilitate application development and camera alignment. Different versions will be made available in Q1, 2011 with 8 to 14 bit resolution, GigE, Full- or dual Base CameraLink.

More information and preliminary datasheet is available on the Condor-1000 MS1-FV product page.
